There are times when people come up to me at shows and ask me “Who are your favorite drummers?”. Thanks for asking, but it’s rather an impossible question to answer. It’s too big a list when it comes right down to it. I’ve always known that all drummers have something to say, and I try to learn (and at times steal) something from everybody.
It’s like the old joke.
Q: How many drummers does it take to change a light bulb?
A: Well, how many light bulbs need changing?
(Never mind.)
Anyway, I will say that these are some of the drummers that have continually inspired me on this journey and have helped shape the way I play as well as the way I like to hear drummers approach music in general.
They are my heroes. Who are yours?
